Our new Harley 40x10 (12 meter) Center Console Kevlar Diesel is now available. This exciting Center Console achieves remarkable efficiency and fast speeds due to several factors. At over three miles per gallon at 40 mph cruise speed, the boat typically performs with 300% the efficiency of outboard center consoles in this size range, and about 200% (or better) efficiency of similar diesel boats in this size range. Back her down to economy cruise, around 28-30 mph, and she will get an amazing 3½ mpg!
The vessel is much stronger and tougher than its fiberglass counterparts. In this website you will see pictures and testimonies of a number of Harley Kevlar boats that were in high speed accidents, cruising at 45- 50 mph and some crashing into immoveable objects at these speeds! No comparable fiberglass vessel could survive accidents like these when compared to the survivability of Harley vessels. Their incredible survivability is due to its great strength, design, and materials.

We are expecting to place the Harley 40x10 Diesel Center Console Demo boat in the water by sometime in August. Some photos of her under construction are shown, including photos of the tooling and plug for the floor.

The above unique combination is a marriage made in heaven, combining performance and efficiency far beyond previously possible in a 40x10 Center Console.
The engines are hidden fully beneath the floor, just immediately aft of the leaning post. Access to the engines for easy service is far superior to any other Center Console. There is a very large hatch above the engines, providing a generous access to any point on the engines. The center of gravity of the engines is about 5 feet forward of the transom. The engines, placed well forward of the transom rather than hanging behind the transom, add greatly to ride quality. This provides a far softer ride than outboard boats. Also, the elimination of the outboards makes for much easier and better fishing, a far more beautiful vessel, a truly more functional boat, a boat with cleaner lines, and a true increase in style and class.
The lighter weight and length of the Harley 40x10 also gives the vessel a pronounced softer ride and dryer ride than its heavier fiberglass counterparts. Once a boat passes 26' in boat length, the lightweight feature positively helps a vessels ride, since its length is long enough to catch several waves at one time, bridging over the waves rather than plowing through them. This occurs because less water is displaced, resulting in a dryer, softer ride. Also improved are beaching and trailering, as well as shallow water operations and safety.
A standard boat engine is the twin 315hp Yanmar Diesels. Optional engines include the Cummins, the FTP Iveco, and the Nanni Diesel. The Yanmar 315 Diesels will reach a top 65 mph speed with the open Center Console, and cruise up to 60 mph. The MiniCuddy performance is close to the same, within 3-4 mph of the Open Center Console. The FTP Iveco Diesel is available at 450HP each, adding considerably more speed. The Cummins are available from 350HP to 480HP per engine. The largest available engines are twin Cummins QSB 5.9L 480hp. Two of these will push the Harley 40 CC up to a blazing 75 MPH! Cruise speed will be up to mid to upper 60s! Great speeds for tournament competitions!
The 40 Center Console has four fishboxes forward, including a giant, centerline underfloor fishboxes and two side fishboxes. Also included are twin baitwells, aft on the transom, with optional pressurization or refrigeration. Other optional custom arrangements are available.
No wood is used in any of the structure of this boat, none in the hull, the transom, the floors, top deck, stringers or bulkheads, being wood free gives maximum life and reliability.
Surface Drives are available both as the standard Fixed Surface Drives, and optional Arneson Drives. The Harley 40 with its standard Fixed Surface Drives has Interceptors for Steering. Interceptors are hydraulic vertical drag plates, mounted between the trim tabs and the transom, that come down about 4 on each side, of course one at a time. These have been tested on our boats as large as our 55. They turn very sharp, much sharper than conventional inboard rudders, have by far the least drag at high speed, much less than rudders, offer excellent turning at all speeds, and even offer good turning manueverability in reverse.
Our unique transom door that has fully filled top, not just the small vertical panel like all others, yet easily and quickly folds completely out of way. Other options such as side door are also available, and Stern thruster and bow thruster are also available for maximum control.
The 40 Harley Center Console is easily trailerable at highway speeds with an F-250 as well as F-350 and similar sized SUVs. For local towing an F-150 can easily pull the vessel locally. With an F-250 or larger or similar SUV, the vessel can be very easily pulled from state to state for tournaments at interstate speeds.
The optional Center Console Cabin version has a very generous, luxuriously appointed cabin, with a large V-berth forward. The head and shower are just a step away from the cabin. The couch on the portside has a backrest which folds up to make 3rd and 4th bunk beds. The large galley has a microwave, refrigerator freezer, cook top, counter space, sink and water, and abundant storage space. An entertainment center is also available with a flatscreen TV. Air-conditioning and separate diesel genset can also be done. We also offer a 12 volt air-conditioning as well, not requiring a generator, and we even have an engine driven genset option for AC 110v air conditioning that runs with one of the diesel engines at idle.
